Ryan McHugh
Whether performing his own music or adding his original vocal and guitar style to covers, Ryan McHugh knows how to rock a room. A captivating performer and songwriter, Ryan has lived and breathed music since his childhood on the South Shore of Boston. Ryan grabs the attention of his audiences by combining the skills of a seasoned performer with the passion of a true music lover. With the creativity and talent he continues to develop to this day, McHugh delivers a powerful, emotional performance that people always react to because it's genuine.
At gigs, Ryan artfully blends an eclectic range of styles – from Acoustic to Electric Rock, Indie, Punk, Funk, R&B, Motown, Pop, Folk, even Country and Hip Hop. Yet, Ryan's original music is more genre specific to Indie and Classic Rock, often compared to that of Elvis Costello, John Lennon and The Foo Fighters. His vocal sound is distinct, deeply rooted in his belief that the way to reach a person's soul is through the raw integrity of the human voice, reflecting the human emotions they look for in a singer. In the tradition of artists like Bob Dylan that he admires, Ryan's original music is filled with lyrics crafted to take the listener on a mental journey – filled with the images and story put into motion with one well-written line. He writes music that he believes really says something, appealing to audiences by exploring in a unique way the things in life that we all feel and experience.

With 15 years experience as a professional musician, Ryan has racked up some notable credentials. In fact, he was chosen to record a version of Bob Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man" used in season five's finale of HBO's "The Sopranos." Ryan has toured the U.S. several times, performing original music with his pop-punk band "Junction 18" (which had music featured in the Disney movie "MVP2") on stages from Boston to L.A. He also traveled as far as Mexico and Puerto Rico with the Aerosmith Tribute Band, "Draw The Line".

Ryan has a loyal following in the Boston area, regularly performing as a one man acoustic show or with a variety of musicians at some of the most popular venues in the Faneuil Hall area. He's sold thousands of albums with his prior bands and is currently at work on a new collection of songs for the fourth album from his original band "Sunset Is A Battle" in addition to his own solo album. You can even find Ryan weekly sharing the stage with fellow Conquer artist Mia Boostrom, prior America's Got Talent finalist, with whom he is also co-producing and engineering her next solo effort. Ryan is a passionate and dedicated full-time musician, living for it and always working hard to make a living through it by satisfying his listeners time and time again.
