"Finger snappin', toe tappin', foot stompin' and crowd pleasin'" – Gary "HooP" Hoopengardner Gary "HooP" Hoopengardner is originally from the "Heart of Rock & Roll Capitol," Cleveland, OH and now resides in Brooklyn, NY. Gary writes and performs his passion for Rock-N-Roll music with other influences that include Blues & Country, Some say Gary sounds a little bit like Lou Reed and Willie Nelson. In addition to playing his guitar, he also harmonica.like the legendary Charley Musselwhite. Gary's other passion is a non-profit organization called "Guitars Not Guns" music program and serves as the current Vice-President for the New York City Chapter.The goal is to help stop violence in the schools and gang activity in the streets providing music programs to at-risk children. This is a volunteer program and guitars are donated and given to the participants.Gary has been a featured songwriter in the "Songwriter Nation Magazine" and had the opportunity to record the legendary artists Kenny Burrell, McCoy Tyner, Stanley Turentine, Tom Rush, PaPa John, Jan Hammer, The Sun Ra Arkestra, and Dr. John.
